Abe Orobia (Eleazar Abraham 'Abe' L. Orobia) is a Filipino artist who explores materialities of the
symbiotic relationship between humanity and nature through scenic paintings in his recent works. His works
prior to these dissected issues and perspectives that surround human experiences. Orobia held solo shows
'Images of Our Nation’ at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts Gallery in 2021 and
‘‘Unconquerable’ (Turn! Turn! Turn!)’ at the Pinto Art Museum in 2023.
Apart from maintaining a dynamic artistic practice, Orobia is an educator, curator, and cultural
advocate. He was awarded as Honoree for Education, Arts, and Culture by The Outstanding Young Men of the
Philippines (TOYM) in 2021. He currently teaches at the Fine Arts: Culture-Based Arts Program of the De
La Salle - College of Saint Benilde and has lectured for the Fine Arts and Design Program of the
University of Santo Tomas in 2008-2012. Orobia has also been a frequent workshop facilitator at the
Ayala Museum since 2013. He has been part of several initiatives and projects such as being head
facilitator for art workshops for indigenous people elementary schools from diverse parts of the
Philippines in 2018, led a team for the bas relief mural of the Basi Revolt in San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur
in the same year, and a mural on the reinterpretation of the Bahay Nakpil-Bautista in 2017. Apart from
these, he was recognized at the Parangal ng Bayan at the Malacañang Palace in 1995 and Bisig ng Kabataan
at the Outstanding Filipino Achievers for Arts and Culture in 1999.
